Compete on the National Stage at Camp Perry
Think you're a great marksman? Put your skills to the test at the National Matches at Camp Perry this summer, where over a thousand of the nation's top shooters will compete for the title of Distinguished Marksman and other sought-after trophies. This is a high level advanced Marksmanship Training that is not for beginners. Cadets will learn the fundamentals of competition level marksmanship and long-range shooting using the AR15 service rifle platform. All Cadets will attend Small Arms Firing School, hosted by the Army Marksmanship Unit, then use these skills in competing in several individual matches and two team matches. Cadets will also receive training and instruction in the three basic shooting positions, offhand, prone, and sitting, as well as the use of equipment needed to be competitive at these levels. They will also learn the fundamentals of wind reading. Training will be provided by members of the various Service Rifle Teams.
